The Community Work Day
URSU-Nyarugenge Campus held the community work of March 25, 2017 at Mageregere sector, G.S. Burema
March 25, 2017, The University of Rwanda Students Union (URSU ) of Nyarugenge Campus attended the community work day at G.S.Burema in Mageragere Sector, Nyarugenge District. The attendance of the students was pretty wonderful as they were about the number of a hundred accompanied by the dean of students of the campus. The main goal was to give back to the community that sustains the everyday life of our beautiful country, Rwanda. Groupe Scholaire Burema is one of the five schools in the whole country in partnership with HANDICAP International in the program of developing the Child friendly Schools ( Inclusive Education), where education is accessible to all children including children with disabilities. NUDOR was there too, they prepared the volleyball pitch for sport and recreation. We also thank their caring quality for improving the quality of life of people with Disabilities. NUDOR provided two wheelchair to ones in need then. The program of inclusive education is becoming quite successful as nearby parents started to show up their children from the houses, and take them to school so they can have the right to education. There was a challenge of one block of classrooms where it is very difficult for the child in wheelchair to get into, due to bad landscape. We did our best with a storm of youth courage and we change the landscape so the wheelchair guys can access the classrooms with no difficulties. After that, we payed for thirty(30) poor people from the cell, and other two people got the goats! That was not enough, but it is what we could as students at the time. Let's hope the courage and the compassion of our youth will continue for years and years, generations to generations. We hope God is on our side, Let us make Rwanda proud!
